ArmTab in detail
Technology & Science Dynamics (TSD) hosted by Yerevan-based Mergelyan Computer Research and Development Institute has launched production of the first Armenian tablets and smartphones. In the framework of the “One child, one computer” governmental program, the company presented its ArmTab TSD Wide A1004T educational tablet, the first of the devices to be produced.
Let’s start with the box. Given the educational nature of the device, schools students helped with the design. In 2015, the Armenian government launched “One child, one computer” program in the framework of which ArmTab tablets were distributed among the schools in Vayots Dzor province.
TSD company announced a contest for 1st-4th grade students for the best work to be depicted on the tablet box, which, besides the device, includes a standard USB cable and a guide.
The device runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS, which is the best for an educational tablet and reduces the risk of program hangup to the minimum.
Following “Time for Armenian products” slogan, TSD team announced last year PAROONAK project, offering Armenian users a platform of ringtones based on Armenian melodies (Komitas, Sayat Nova, Nikoghayos Tigranyan and Stepan Elmas), games and applications.
Later, ringtones with the music by Aram Khachaturyan, Arno Babajanyan, Konstantin Orbelyan, Tigran Mansuryan and others were added. The application is available at Apple iTunes and Google Play Store.
